I miss the wood surround. It looks too plain without it.
I don't see how this could replace the P5 since I would imagine the RB700 is a better arm then the RB303.
The idea of an aluminum 'cap' over a plastic sub platter seems like a cheap, band-aid fix to raise the height of the platter. Plus the fact that the two components stacked on top of each offer lower precision and higher tolerance to the whole assembly. I would have expected to see a solid, machined sub platter at this price.
